mediaportal.ro is a free media portal. As subscriber, you are able to upload video files up to 1 GB, or to communicate to your friends using the audio/video capabilities (multimedia messaging, audio/video chat). For every media you upload, video/audio/image codes is created so you can copy the code, and paste onto your Myspace Blogs or Profiles, Blogger or Xanga Blogs, your own websites, or just share the video with your family and friends using mediaportal.ro capabilities.

How and why is mediaportal.ro free?

mediaportal.ro has been created so that anybody interested in looking for solutions to stream videos can do so all for free.

What is the difference between registered users and unregistered users?

Registered users are able to upload media up to 1GB, while unregistered Guests are only able to access the public media using the media streaming capabilities.
Registered users are also able to exploit the following services.

multimedia messaging
customized profile
media blogs/comments
handle your own media content
audio/video chat
Get points for each uploaded video rated by a mediaportal.ro memeber (25 p), comment (25 p if your media contentis commented and 2 p when commenting media content), rating of videos (25 p when being rated, 2 p when rating). 100 p are allocated when creating and approving the mediaportal member account, 50 p when inviting a friend on mediaportal.ro, or when changing the avatar. Points will be used for mediaportal.ro rankings and promotions

Do you have any guarantees on how long mediaportal.ro will be online?

mediaportal.ro has been created by a group of people, on a 'hobby' basis. There is hence no guarantees. However, we will appreciate donations for the maintainance of our servers.

What file formats are allowed?

mediaportal.ro allows most major media formats to be uploaded. We allow MPG, MPEG, AVI, MOV, WMV, WMA, AVI, MP3, WAV, AU.

I need to delete a video I uploaded

Registered users will soon be able to do it with a click of a button.

Where do I find the Media Codes and Linking instructions for the media I just uploaded?

After you upload your media, you can visit My Media area by clicking on the link. Once there, look for the section 'Video/Audio/Photo', the category of your media.

Can I download media onto my computer?

No, we do not allow that. However, you are free to bookmark the page and return anytime to view the media or even to get the HTML code and to refer the media where you desire onto your web pages.

How do I link to a media?

We currently have 2 forms of HTML produced for each and every video.

URL : Use this form of linking for instant messengers and emails, and web pages
BLOGS: Use this are to create your blog about that media
BB : Use this method to link to a video on a forum.

The video I uploaded doesn't have a thumbnail yet?

Thumbnails are created automatically, but only displayed after our admin reviews the video. Check the video again in a few hours.
